Again, National Students' League for Democracy (LMND) in Makassar, South Sulawesi Branch visited Inco's office on March 10, 2008. The students demanded nationalization of mining industries for free education. They also addressed the government to revoke foreign investment law, and oil and gas regulation which opened the way for the domination of foreign mining and oil companies.

INCO has been in operation since 1968. In 1995, it renewed its exploration contract with the Indonesian government for another 30 years. In 2007, Inco gained profit of $513,4 million. The protesters wanted to meet with Inco's representatives but were refused by the security guards. Students then installed a placard written “ State’s property” and Nationalize INCO!”

The student then marched to the house of the Vice President, Yusuf Kalla. (** Gusti Sari)
