Dear Katarina,

I am dismayed by reports I have read of recent attempts to disrupt the

activities of the Paternas political party in Indonnesia and the

apparent campaign to prevent that party participating in forthcoming

elections. Such undemocratic practices can only create new social

divisions and deep resentments that will result in further conflicts in

the future.
